The goal of Food Friends is quite simple - to get kids to try new foods.

Any parent who has pleaded with his or her child to try a new food may think this goal is ambitious enough. However, there’s more to it than that:

  • If kids are exposed to new foods multiple times, they will become more willing to try new foods.
  • Children who try new foods may enhance food choice and increase dietary variety that lasts into adulthood.
  • Adults who have varied diets are at decreased risk of chronic diseases.
