| Description: |
Back to school means back
to busy schedules! During this class we will show
you how to have a nutritious meal prepared at home
in the time it takes to go through a drive-thru.
We will demonstrate a few speedy meals, give you
ideas for jazzing up leftovers, and help you learn
to shop for groceries more efficiently too. Class
includes 1 hour of cooking and nutrition education,
followed by an optional 30-minute question and answer
session. |

by popular demand, our program teaches you to listen
to your body, make small lifestyle changes, and
incorporate tricks such as portion control, mindful
eating, garnering support, and planning ahead. We'll
show you how to decrease your risk of heart disease
and diabetes while eliminating unwanted pounds and
inches. |

time is here, which means a bounty of local produce!
In this class we will make several dishes featuring
fabulous seasonal ingredients. We will also give
ideas for using and storing fall produce to help
you take advantage of inexpensive in-season ingredients.

healthy eating tips for the workday including easy
lunches to pack, optimal restaurant choices, nutritious

the concepts of balance, variety, and moderation.

"Meatless Miracles" |
| Description: |
You don't have to be a
vegetarian to skip the meat! Meatless meals can
be higher in fiber and nutrients, lower in saturated
fat, and cost less too! In this class you will learn
how to use alternative sources of protein in your
favorite recipes to cut back on cost and calories
- just in time for the holidays. Class includes
1 hour of cooking and nutrition education, followed
by an optional 30-minute question and answer session. |

18: American Diabetes Month ~ Informational
Open House |
| Description: |
Millions of adults and
children in the U.S. have diabetes or are at risk
for pre-diabetes, type 1, type 2, or gestational
diabetes. Don't know the difference? Been diagnosed
and need more information? Have a loved one with
some form of diabetes? Visit our registered dietitians,
pick up educational materials, and get ideas for
shopping and meal planning. Light refreshments will
be served. |

Desserts" |

Dessert deprivation is
not necessary to be "healthy," and can
even hinder your weight-loss efforts! In this class
we will make and sample several sweet treats. You
will learn how to lighten up some of your favorite
desserts, and also how to fit even the most decadent
dessert into a healthy eating plan. Class includes
1 hour of cooking and nutrition education, followed
by an optional 30 minute question and answer session. |
